All city parking rules are in effect Friday and Sunday Gridlock Alerts Sunday and Monday! Sunday is Mother’s Day, one of the heaviest traffic days of the year. Every road to mother's house and grandmother's house will be jammed. The George Washington Bridge, the Belt Parkway, the Verrazano, Bronx-Whitestone, and Throgs Neck bridges and Van Wyck Expressway will be congested all afternoon through the evening.
