Fw: Free Apps with Information You Can Use

Free Apps with Information You Can Use

It seems there is an app or mobile site available for almost anything these days, but sometimes all you really want is trusted information on important things happening around you, such as the economy, your health or other current events. USA.gov provides free government apps and mobile sites in one Mobile Apps Gallery, so you can easily find and download what you're looking for. Some of the newest apps and mobile sites include:

  • 52 Weeks for Women's Health: This app, created by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), includes 52 alphabetical health topics, one for each week of the year. The app promotes a healthy lifestyle and includes practical tips for women to use in their everyday lives. You can also monitor your personal health by tracking medicines, allergies and more.
  • America's Economy: If you're interested in learning more about the American economy, this app is for you. The U.S. Census Bureau has compiled updates and information from across the government that overviews statistics that measure the health of the U.S. economy in areas such as manufacturing, employment, international trade and many more. You can also check to see if an area you're interested in has gone up or down since the previous post.
  • FBI.gov Mobile: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched its first mobile site to help you access their information on the go. Browse their site with the easy to use search function or view the latest news through their rotating slider. Some of the most popular information the FBI shares includes the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, crime stats, and background check information.
  • Presidential Documents App: Through the joint forces of the Government Printing Office (GPO) and the National Archives' Office of the Federal Register (OFR) you can find out what public activities the President is up to every day. With user-friendly search capabilities, you can access executive orders, speeches, nominations submitted to the Senate, official White House announcements and more.
