In partnership with Frieze, the Studio Museum is pleased to offer complementary Museum admission to Frieze attendees Thursday through Sunday during Museum hours—just present your Frieze ticket stub or VIP card!

In addition, if you are a Frieze VIP, you can join us for a private view of David Hartt: Stray Light and other Museum exhibitions Sunday, May 12, 7–9pm! The private view will be introduced by Naima J. Keith, Assistant Curator, The Studio Museum in Harlem. 

Transport to the Studio Museum departs from Frieze New York at 6:45pm and will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Please visit the VIP desk at the fair for further details.

1pm: Gallery Tour: Gordon Parks: A Harlem Family 1967
Enjoy an interactive and informative tour of Gordon Parks: A Harlem Family 1967 with a knowledgeable museum educator! Gordon Parks: A Harlem Family 1967 honors the legacy and the work of late iconic artist and photojournalist Gordon Parks, who would have turned 100 on November 30, 2012. The tour will have something for everyone: adults, families and kids of all ages are welcome!

2pm: Hands On: Flowers for Mother's Day
What does family mean to you? Take a look at the photographs in Gordon Parks: Harlem Family 1967 then come to the workshop to make a creative arrangement of flowers and vase with a variety of art materials in honor of Mother's Day. Space is limited—Click here to RSVP.

In this session of Lil' Studio, participants will explore Alma Thomas' painting Space, (1966) currently featured in the exhibition Brothers and Sisters. Little fingers will become paintbrushes as children explore color, line, and space with finger paint. RSVP required.

AAMD Art Museum Day
The Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD) is hosting its fourth annual Art Museum Day on Saturday, May 18. This year, the Studio Museum, along with a number of local, national and international museums, will offer free admission! We encourage museum visitors to use social media to share their Art Museum Day experiences with their social networks. Enjoy an interactive and informative tour of Harlem Postcards: Tenth Anniversary and Harlem Postcards: Spring 2013. Harlem Postcards is an ongoing project that invites contemporary artists of diverse backgrounds to reflect on Harlem as a site of cultural activity, political vitality, visual stimuli, artistic contemplation and creative production.

2pm: Hands On: Buttons!
Join us to celebrate 10 years of Harlem Postcards! Inspired by Jumoke Sanwo's postcard, Buttons, make a button or two in this art workshop, and wear your artwork with pride! Create designs with markers or crayons, share your favorite slogan, or create a personalized gift for a loved one. RSVP required.

: Arts & Minds (Series B)

Arts & Minds brings adults with memory disorders and their caregivers together in new experiences of art. Join us for a lively discussion of the current exhibitions during a guided tour and art-making workshop. Through gallery discussions and hands-on art activities, Arts & Minds opens a window to creativity and well-being. Arts & Minds is free but reservations are required. Call 646-755-3726 to reserve your place. Participants may only sign up for Series A or Series B. Series B will be a repeat of Series A from the previous week.
