Stroll through the park  with Sid and discover its historical features, still visible today, as  well as its outstanding rock exposures and trees.    This program is generously supported by the Greenacre Foundation and  the Fort Tryon Park Trust.    *Fit as a Troll Children's Concert at Anne Loftus Playground    Saturday, May 31, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.    Performance in Anne Loftus Playground at the north end of Fort Tryon  Park at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Broadway*    Join us for a fun and funny educational music program for all ages  from the New York Scandia Symphony! The program, "Fit as a Troll,"  will teach children about healthy eating and exercise habits with a  fun interactive musical program. The performance is adapted from  Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" program and will feature musical  arrangement from Frank Foerster.    The performance will take place in Anne Loftus Playground at the  intersection of Dyckman Street and Broadway at the Northeast corner of  Fort Tryon Park. To get there by subway, take the A train to the  Dyckman Street station.    *Heather Garden Tour with Public Garden Designer Ronda M. Brands    Sunday, June 2, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.    Meet at the Entrance to the Heather Garden at Margaret Corbin Circle  in Fort Tryon Park*    Take a tour of the "Park for All Seasons." Take a walking tour of the  Heather and Alpine Gardens of Fort Tryon Park. Discover which plants  are in bloom in each of the seasons. Learn about the gardens' history,  future, and secrets from a member of Fort Tryon's expert horticulture  staff. All participants will receive a copy of our new Heather Garden  Guide. Learn the basics of travel photography, in a park that  is visited by tourists from around the world. Learn tips and tricks,  camera and flash settings, composition and lighting, using the NYC  Scenic Landmark Fort Tryon Park as your travel destination. Bring your  camera and flash. Heavy rain and  weather/air advisory cancels.    *Fort Tryon Pathways Get a Facelift*    We are looking forward to a NYC Parks' Capital construction project  which is slated to begin on June 9. This $900,000 project funded by  the City Council, will pave pathways that link Billings Lawn to the  former Billings Estate entrance and Billings Arcade, just west of the  Fort Tryon Park Cottage. The contract will also reinstate lighting and  the historic drinking fountain to this area, and add extensive  horticultural elements for year round interest.    *Tree Work In Progress*    In the coming weeks you will see Forestry contractors grinding stumps  and taking care of storm damage and decaying trees. All this work will  make way for new plantings which are contracted to take place shortly  after.
