Fwd: Black people eat more fast food than anybody else

Hello, I hope you're doing well.
I recently read a story about the fact that African Americans consume more fast food than any other race in America. There was a part of me that thought about the food desserts in our communities and the fact that healthy food can be more expensive.
There was another part of me, however, that thought about other studies that show that African Americans watch more TV than other people. I then wondered how much individual choice plays a role in our daily decision making and whether or not some of us are buying what we WANT but claiming to not be able to afford the things that we NEED.
In our quest for self-awareness as a community, it might make sense for us to openly challenge some of our habits, and ask ourselves: If I can afford to spend $10 a day on fast food, can I also afford $10 a day to invest for my future?
Sure, a stock portfolio doesn't taste as good as a cheeseburger, but it also doesn't give you diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. A big piece of our personal and collective success often comes down to making sacrifices and focusing less on our limitations than our possibilities. In fact, I dare say that if black people were to invest as much money into the stock market as we invest in McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's fast food, our wealth would grow by at least a trillion dollars within one generation.
